It's hard to believe that nearly 5 years have passed since the release of my last album, The Blue Hearts Project. When I look back at everything that's occurred since then, it's absolutely incredible to see just how dramatically different my life is; I've become a husband, a father, a homeowner, an investor, a worship leader and band member. I've travelled to both ends of the United States to provide music for the weddings of people who were complete strangers to me. I've designed websites and fallen in love with graphic design. The past 5 years have brought incredible peaks and equally as impressive valleys. I've grown in so many ways, and though I've not released any new material and I've been performing less in order to explore other passions, I've been documenting every step along the way with songwriting.
During this "hiatus", I've been taking stock of where I've been, both personally and professionally. I've listened to all of the music I've released to date as well as a lot of tracks that have yet to see the light of day, and let me tell you as an artist, there's nothing harder than playing back music you wrote and were so proud of at the time, only to re-listen a few years down the line and think, "man, what was I thinking?". A great song is one that grows with you; it's one that evolves and takes on new meaning, both lyrically and musically. Having listened most everything I've ever written, including the material I've been working on over the past several years, the time feels right to begin piecing together my 6th musical effort, Boulevard of Shattered Hearts.
I do not have an official release date in mind, although I'm hopeful that everything will come together for a release sometime early fall. I cannot thank you all - meaning my family, friends, and fans - enough for your patience and unwavering support, and I look forward to documenting this process as it evolves.
